Hypoglycemia as a first symptom of fructosemia, complicated by gestational diabetes in III pregnancy and 26 years of delayed final diagnosis: a case report

Introduction: Fructosemia is a rare autosomal recessive genetic metabolic disorder, caused by mutations in the ALDOB (9q22.3) gene, encoding the enzyme aldolase B. This case shows that fructosemia typically causes hypoglycemia. This disorder should be included in differential diagnosis.
